Postdoctoral position in Micro- and Nano-Fluidics

    Contact: Dr. Gilad Yossifon
    Department: Micro- and nano-fluidics laboratory
Institution: Technion - Israel Institute of Technology
    Qualifications: Ph.D.
    Starting Date: Immediate
Job description: The micro- and nano-fluidics laboratory - https://mnfl.technion.ac.il/ - of Dr. Gilad Yossifon in the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology's Department of Mechanical Engineering is announcing a postdoctoral appointment beginning as soon as possible.
The overall research focus is on electrokinetics in micro- and nano-fluidics with main interests in non-linear effects due to ion-permselectivity of nanochannels (e.g. concentration-polarization, overlimiting current) and their interaction with nanoparticles and biomolecules.
Besides fundamental research we target a number of application areas involving mainly energy-related (e.g. electro-chemo-mechanical energy-conversion), healthcare (e.g. Lab-on-a-chip, immuno-assay) and other (e.g. artificial ion-channels, nanofluidic electronic circuit equivalents).
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will lead and perform experimental research on electrokinetics in nanofluidics involving nanoparticles and biomolecules. S/He should have an earned Ph.D. and strong analytical and experimental skills in fluid mechanics and transport phenomena. In addition, micro- and nano-fabrication skills are required.
This is a one year appointment, with a competitive salary and benefits package and the possibility of renewal. To apply please email your research interests, resume and publication list, as well as the contact information for three references to Dr. Gilad Yossifon (yossifon@technion.ac.il).

    Modeling Scanning Probe Microscopy

    Contact: Dr. Oded Gottlieb
    Department: Dept. of Mechanical Engineering
Institution: Technion - Israel Institute of Technology
Qualifications: Ph.D. in engineering, physics or applied math. Proficiency in nonlinear asymptotic methods and/or computational methods. Experience in bifurcation analyses and/or nonlinear control and/or thermoelastic modeling an advantage.
    Starting Date:
Job description: Nonlinear dynamics, stability and control of the scan process in Scanning Probe Microscopy. This research is funded by the Israel Science Foundation and consists of theoretical modeling and analyses required to consistently resolve the nonlinear interactions that limit the operation (e.g. force resolution) of individual scanning probes (including contact Lateral Force Microscopy and noncontact Atomic Force Microscopy).
