    The OSP programs at Tel Aviv University present a unique opportunity for accomplished college students. Participants learn Hebrew and take college level courses in English for full academic credit while immersed in Israeli culture.

Summer Programs


TAU's unique summer programs offer undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to learn a new language and enroll in inspiring courses in a variety of fields, including contemporary, global, and Middle East topics.
TAU International summer programs are designed for students who are willing to challenge themselves with an invigorating academic schedule that combines classroom learning, field trips, overnight trips, guest speakers, evening workshops, social evening events and much more.
The summer program track at TAU International is a great option for students who wish to study in Israel but have a limited time frame, or for students who simply want to spend a summer in Tel Aviv and partake in a unique academic experience.
TAU International summer programs are taken for credit and can be taken either as part of the curriculum or as an extra activity that expands students’ perspectives for future studies and work.

Summer Courses


Students can choose to take one or two classes that will be taught three hours a day, three days a week. All courses are taught in English and are open to students above the age of 18 with a high school diploma as well as adult learners. Each summer course awards three academic credits.

Special Programs

Short-Term Programs for Graduate Students


Students who have completed their undergraduate degree but would like to further their studies are welcome to enroll for a semester or year in the International School. These students benefit from all of the components of the regular International School Program, but have the opportunity to enrich their studies by designing a directed-reading course or independent research project in a topic of their choice. The program for recent BA graduates / current MA students is ideal for students who want to explore subjects they were not able to study in their undergraduate degrees as well as students who are looking for more experience before applying to a graduate program.

Academics
Students are expected to take between three to five courses a semester. In addition to the courses that we offer, students in the program are welcome to enroll in any of our specialty programs: Honors Programs in Psychology, and Peace & Conflict Studies; Global Law Program; and the Internship Program. All of the courses in the International School are taught in English and are fully accredited.

International Summer Certificate Program in Identity-Based Conflict Resolution

This new Summer Program, taught in English, includes internships in peace NGOS and in related think tanks, and offers students the opportunity to earn 11 graduate academic credits in a period of four weeks (July) and get a certificate. These credits are recognized worldwide in conjunction with home/future universities.
The program is open to holders of undergraduate/graduate degrees and current graduate students from various disciplines in the social sciences, the liberal arts and the humanities. Taking only some of the courses is possible.
 

The Preparatory Program (Mechina) & Ulpan 

The Mechina is a special study program for New Immigrants (Olim Chadashim) and tourists, run in conjunction with the Student Authority at the Israel Ministry of Absorption. This program is intended for immigrants or tourists who have completed their high school education overseas. The aim of the program is to prepare overseas students for higher education in Israel, and to instill them with the knowledge of Hebrew (through the Ulpan program included within the Mechina), Jewish history and traditions, and Israeli culture and customs.
 

The Israel Experience Program  

The One Year Program for Overseas students, titled "The Israel Experience", offers the benefits of a relatively small, intimate program (limited to 100 English-speaking students), combined with the resources an infrastructure of a top-notch University.  

Bar-Ilan - Yeshiva University Summer Science Internships

This exciting new program enables talented undergraduate science majors to work for up to 2 months in the research group of one of Bar-Ilan's more than 180 distinguished faculty members in the biological and/or physical sciences. The internships are offerd to Yeshiva University students at the Bar Ilan Campus in Ramat Gan, Israel, starting June 19, 2011.  For more information about the program click here.

    The Lookstein Center for Jewish Education of Bar-Ilan's School of Education offer professional development and resources for Jewish educators around the world. The Center is staffed by leading educators from across the globe and focuses its programming and research on "professionalizing the profession" of Jewish education outside of Israel. Its programs include training educational leadership, facilitating online communities that connect thousands of educators from around the world, curriculum and staff development projects, school evaluations, publication of an academic and popular journal, and online academic courses for Jewish educators.

    Summer Programs


    The Summer University Program offers short-term study programs, usually lasting between four to six weeks and running through the late summer months. These programs are open to everyone.

    Semester and Year Long Programs


    The Semester and Year Long Programs offered by the Ginsburg-Ingerman Overseas Student Programs office are aimed at students who:
    1. Are currently registered in a BA/MA program and want to study abroad
    2. Students who have recently completed High school and are interested in doing a Gap Year abroad
    3. Students who have recently completed their BA studies and would like to take additional courses in order to prepare for application to a graduate program
    4. Students who are interested in doing a research-based Internship, in combination with their academic studies

    The courses offered under the Semester and Year Long Programs include the following subjects:

    Short-Term Programs for Ungraduate students:


    • Freshman Year of Engineering and Science
      Freshman Year program allows students to study at the Technion for one year in English. It is the ideal solution for students interested in engineering and science, who wish to spend meaningful time in Israel. This program covers the basic engineering and science areas and allows the graduate to continue to a full degree at the Technion or transfer to an overseas partner university. 
    • Semester of Science and Engineering
      You can spend a semester at the Technion by building your own course load.     Galilee International Management Institute (GIMI)

    Galilee International Management Institute (GIMI) is a public, international management-training institution.  Its International Department offers a core curriculum of over a dozen program. Its Program Development Division designs and implements training projects tailor-made for the requirements of sponsoring governments and international agencies. The college also recruits interns from Japan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia and South Korea in order to promote cooperation.

    • Political Sciences and Middle East Studies - Five-week summer program for students from around the world who are interested in the Middle East, focusing on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
    • Joint Jewish-Christian-Muslim Program: A Religious Mosaic in the Holy Land - Five-week summer program devoted to the three great monotheistic traditions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam (as well as the other traditions/different sects represented in Israel), their history and connections in the context of modern-day Israel.
    • Israeli and Jewish Art - Eight day seminar held twice a year.

    Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance

    The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance offers two international programs:
    • Jerusalem Sounds
      Jerusalem Sounds is a new and unique initiative of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (JAMD) and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Rothberg International School (RIS). Studies include a full music program consisting of individual instruction, performance in small and large ensembles and classes in Jewish and Israeli music. Students also choose from a wide range of university courses in Religious, Israel and Middle Eastern Studies, Behavioral Sciences and Environmental Studies, as well as Hebrew Language.     • DanceJerusalem
      This unique program, initiated jointly by the Rothberg International School (RIS) and the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (JAMD), combines artistic training in dance skills and technique with academic exposure to Israel's challenging social, historical and cultural environment. DanceJerusalem offers university-level artistic and technical training in the disciplines of Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance (including Ohad Naharin's GaGa), Choreography, Repertoire and Improvisation. Within the framework of a comprehensive survey course, "Dance in Israel", students create, rehearse and perform works with outstanding Israeli composers and choreographers.
      Students choose from a wide range of academic courses in Jewish, Israel and Middel Eastern Studies, as well as Hebrew Language. For details see the online course list.
      Upon completion of the program, students will receive academic transcripts from each institution. The year program runs from the beginning of August to the end of June. An autumn semester option starts at the same time and ends in early January.

    Student Exchange Program


    Bezalel has a vibrant student exchange program with 100 leading art institutions worldwide. Students from our partner academies are welcome to study at Bezalel for one or two semesters, usually during their third year of studies. Applications for exchange are submitted through the exchange coordinator at the respective academy. The institutions agree to recognize each other’s study programs, grades and accreditation systems. Exchange students pay tuition to their home institution and are exempt from such fees at Bezalel.
